Hi and welcome to our blog! In this space we discuss all thing Black education, Black schools, archives, and Jim Crow. A lot of these blog posts will discuss our thoughts and process in creating the Exhibition, “Black Educators: Florida’s Secret Social Justice Advocates, 1920-1960”. We think that others can learn from our experience being deep in the archives, encountering new materials, and learning to make sense of them. These posts are written by Dr. Diedre Houchen, as well as other field researchers on our team. Jump in, read along, and ask us a question, if you’d like!
