Digital Field Notes (DFNs)

How do you document, share, and process the intricate world of archival research?

To answer this question of research and practice, I created digital field notes (DFNS). Digital field notes descriptive or reflective journal-like entries written by our field researchers in the archive. The purpose of our DFNs are two-fold. Like traditional field notes, writing down information and our  reflection during the interaction with the materials helps us record details and ideas to use later. Second, we wanted to provide a window for YOU into our process of research and pulling together this exhibit. In the next few posts, we’ll share a few of our DFNs.
